After the United Nations, the European Union has now addressed the Generation Z protests in Morocco. The EU's twenty-seven member states have urged «all stakeholders to maintain calm» within the kingdom.
«We recognize the importance of youth participation in public life and urge all parties to preserve calm», stated an EU spokesperson for Foreign Affairs.
«We welcome the openness to dialogue shown by the Moroccan authorities. We deplore the acts of violence committed during the recent protests and extend our condolences to the families of the victims».
As a reminder, the UN has called for «transparent investigations and accountability for anyone found responsible for violating the rights of people engaged in peaceful protest».
