The National Association of Private Clinics has addressed an open letter to the Minister of Health in response to his recent remarks about «halting support provided to private clinics». The association expressed surprise at these statements, noting that, to its knowledge, no private clinic affiliated with the association has ever benefited from any form of support, whether for management or equipment.
The association, which represents the vast majority of private clinics across Morocco’s regions, emphasized that its position reflects a credible and representative voice at the national level.
In the letter, signed by Professor Redouane Samlali, the association called on the minister to «clarify the legal or regulatory provisions referring to these ‘subsidies,’ and to publish the full list of beneficiaries in the interest of transparency towards citizens».
The association further stated that «if there are indeed beneficiaries of such subsidies, their names and the amounts involved should be clearly disclosed to avoid ambiguity and ensure accurate public information».
It warned that such statements «risk creating confusion among the public and portraying an inaccurate image of a sector that has long contributed to the national public health mission alongside the public sector».
