A new air route connecting Warsaw and Marrakech, operated by the Polish airline LOT, was inaugurated on Wednesday, marking a significant step in enhancing tourism ties between Morocco and Poland.
This route, operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8, will offer bi-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays, linking Warsaw Chopin Airport with Marrakech Menara.
The introduction of this direct connection is anticipated to significantly boost connectivity and mobility between the two nations, with substantial commercial and economic benefits for both, stated Laila Boulejiouch from the Moroccan embassy in Warsaw during the launch event.
The establishment of this new route follows extensive discussions between the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and LOT Polish Airlines, ultimately leading to a strategic partnership agreement, highlighted Aziz Mnii, ONMT's representative in Warsaw.
The Warsaw-Marrakech link is expected to increase the influx of Polish tourists to Morocco, which reached nearly 136,000 visitors in 2024, according to ONMT data.
