Eswatini's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Pholile Dlamini Shakantu, declared on Thursday that the forthcoming Dakhla Atlantic Port marks a significant milestone, ushering in a new era for connectivity and intra-African trade.

During a press briefing at the port's construction site, Dlamini Shakantu highlighted that, under the visionary leadership of King Mohammed VI, this port is set to become a vital link between Africa and the global market.

Commending Morocco for this ambitious endeavor, entirely developed through Moroccan expertise and innovation, she remarked that the future port platform exemplifies an African development model rooted in national proficiency.

In this context, Dlamini Shakantu expressed Eswatini's keen interest in leveraging the opportunities presented by the Dakhla Atlantic Port. She noted that the project aligns perfectly with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), fostering enhanced trade relations across the continent.

The minister also reiterated Eswatini's support for Morocco's territorial integrity, recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara and endorsing the autonomy plan as the sole credible, serious, and realistic solution to the regional dispute.

Moreover, the head of Eswatini's diplomacy welcomed the promising avenues for bilateral cooperation. On Wednesday in Rabat, alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, she took part in the inaugural session of the Joint Cooperation Commission between the two nations.

On the same day, she visited her country's consulate general in Laayoune, inaugurated in October 2020. This diplomatic mission, among the first in the city, underscores the strong bonds between the two kingdoms.
