Moroccan swimmer Imane Houda El Barodi clinched the gold medal in the 50m breaststroke, while her compatriot Ahmed Yassine Fliyou secured bronze in the same discipline on Wednesday in Riyadh, as part of the Islamic Solidarity Games.

El Barodi won the event in 32.23 seconds, narrowly edging out Turkey’s Pinar Dönmez (32.24) and Lebanon’s Lynn El Hajj (32.68).

Meanwhile, Fliyou finished third with a time of 28.02, in a race dominated by Turkish swimmer Huseyin Emre Sakci (27.37). Second place went to another Turkish athlete, Nusrat Allahverdi (27.71).

With these results, Morocco’s medal count at the Games has risen to five medals: one gold, two silver, and two bronze.
