Eight arrested in Morocco over suspected illegal resale of AFCON tickets

Eight people were arrested in six Moroccan cities on suspicion of illegally reselling tickets for Africa Cup of Nations matches currently taking place in the Kingdom.

The arrests followed cyber-monitoring efforts that identified social media posts offering AFCON match tickets for sale outside official channels, police said. Subsequent technical analysis and field investigations led to the identification of the suspects, who were apprehended during coordinated security operations in Rabat, Temara, Agadir, Salé, Marrakech, and Mohammedia.

Those arrested have been placed under judicial investigation to determine the full circumstances, background, and scope of the alleged offenses. Investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest any additional individuals involved in these illegal practices.
