The first batch of WhAP 8×8 armored vehicles manufactured at the newly inaugurated TATA Advanced Systems Maroc (TASM) plant in Berrechid has been handed over to the Royal Moroccan Army, TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) announced on Wednesday in a post on X.

«A proud milestone! Made in Morocco», TASL wrote, captioning a photo of the delivery.

Inaugurated in September, the Berrechid plant was established under an investment agreement signed in 2024 between Morocco’s Administration of National Defense, India’s Ministry of Defence, and TASL. The facility is dedicated to the production of WhAP 8×8 armored combat vehicles for the Royal Armed Forces and high-potential international markets.

At start-up, the TASM plant integrates 35% locally sourced components, a rate expected to rise progressively to 50%, supported by sustained investment in training and the integration of national suppliers.

Equipped with modern infrastructure, the Berrechid facility is set to serve as a regional export platform for WhAP 8×8 vehicles, particularly targeting African markets.
