The national coach, Walid Regragui, said on Sunday in Rabat that the national team is fully focused on its objective of defeating Zambia and advancing to the next round as group leaders.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Monday’s clash against Zambia at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat (8:00 p.m.), for the third matchday of Group A at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Regragui said the team has «the opportunity to finish first against Zambia and remain in Rabat, which is our main objective».

«I have confidence in this group, which is truly united. We know what we need to do to move forward, and we also understand that we must go through difficult moments in order to grow and improve», he stressed.

«We have made significant progress in terms of team spirit within the national squad», the coach added.

In this context, he noted that «we are doing our job to make our supporters happy», emphasizing that criticism can also be «beneficial, as it helps us improve and perform better».

Morocco currently tops Group A with four points, ahead of Mali and Zambia on two points each, while Comoros sit bottom with one point.

Mali and Comoros will face each other on Monday (8:00 p.m.) at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca.
