Marking the fifth anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic ties, Morocco and Israel have agreed on a joint military action plan for 2026. The agreement was reached during the third session of their joint military commission, held last week in Tel Aviv.
According to Hebrew media reports, the Israeli army said the meeting «represents a major step in strengthening security cooperation with Morocco, which it regards as key partner for regional stability».
«The talks, coordinated by the Planning Directorate of the Israeli army, included technical working sessions as well as visits to military units, defense industries and relevant directorates. The visit culminated in a roundtable focused on reinforcing strategic capabilities and advancing shared cooperation objectives between the two armed forces», the same sources said.
Morocco and Israel signed a military and security cooperation agreement in Rabat in November 2021. Since then, the Royal Armed Forces have become one of the leading clients of Israel’s defense industry. The partnership goes beyond arms procurement and also includes the establishment of drone manufacturing units in Morocco.
