Morocco exported more than 50,000 tons of sweet peppers to Germany in a single season for the first time, according to data from EastFruit. During the 2024/25 season (October–September), German imports of Moroccan sweet peppers reached 52,400 tons, with a value of nearly €120 million, representing a 20% increase compared to the previous season.

Germany has become Morocco’s third-largest export destination for sweet peppers, after Spain and France, accounting for 14.7% of total Moroccan exports of the product. This milestone reflects a steady rise in shipments to the German market over the past six consecutive seasons, with an average annual growth rate of nearly 30%.

Exports to Germany take place year-round, peaking between January and May, with March 2025 recording the highest monthly volume at 6,100 tons. Morocco also set a seasonal record for mandarin exports to Germany, further strengthening its agri-food trade ties with the European market.
