The Court of First Instance in Taroudant has handed down prison sentences to four defendants in connection with the fire that struck the municipal market of Jnan Jamaa.

Each of the accused was sentenced to two months in jail, under the legal provisions governing the protection of public facilities and the maintenance of safety in key commercial spaces.

The case stems from a fire that broke out at the municipal market last October, causing substantial material damage. The incident triggered widespread anger among merchants and professionals, prompting calls from local stakeholders for clarity regarding the circumstances of the fire and the attribution of legal responsibility.
