On Thursday in Rabat, the Government Council examined and approved nine draft decrees related to the renewal of licenses granted to several companies for the provision of satellite communication services.
The draft decrees were presented by the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, according to Government Spokesperson and Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament Mustapha Baitas, who briefed the press following the weekly Council meeting.
Among the approved texts was Draft Decree No. 2.25.902, renewing the license granted to Maroc Telecom to provide satellite communication services using VSAT technology in Morocco. Draft Decree No. 2.25.903 similarly renews the license granted to Wana Corporate for the same activity.
The Council also approved Draft Decree No. 2.25.904, renewing the license granted to Green Development and Planning Company to provide satellite communication services using VSAT technology.
In addition, Draft Decree No. 2.25.905 renews the license granted to Cires Telecom SA for the establishment and operation of a radio communication network using 3RP frequency-sharing technology. Draft Decree No. 2.25.906 grants a similar renewal to Green Development and Planning Company for the same type of network.
The approved texts also include Draft Decree No. 2.25.907, renewing the license granted to Orbcomm Maghreb for the establishment and operation of a public satellite communications network using GMPCS technology.
Draft Decree No. 2.25.908 renews the license granted to Thuraya Maghreb SA for the same purpose, while Draft Decree No. 2.25.1106 concerns the renewal of the license granted to Al Hourria Telecom.
Finally, the Council approved Draft Decree No. 2.25.1107, renewing the license granted to Gulfsat Maghreb for the establishment and operation of a public satellite communications network using VSAT technology.
