The world's top artisan bakers, including those representing Morocco, have converged in Paris to compete for glory at the 2026 Bakery World Cup, which commenced on Tuesday and spans two days of intense competition.

This year's event, themed «Inventions from Your Country», is a highlight of the Sirha Bake & Snack show, a premier gathering for professionals in bakery, pastry, and snacking, taking place from January 19-21.

According to the organizers of the Moroccan national team, Team Morocco is set to enter the competition on Wednesday, the second day of the event, with a clearly defined mission: «to showcase a modern, sophisticated, and credible Moroccan bakery, rooted in technical precision, creative intelligence, and compliance with international standards, all while maintaining a distinct and elegant cultural identity.»

Under the leadership of national coach Mustapha Ait Elaouam and the guidance of Kamal Rahal Essoulami, the Moroccan team features esteemed professionals in their respective fields, including Yassine Rassafi (bread), Aziz Ouzaime (pastry), and Adil Kerroum (artistic piece).

Having achieved a global 6th place finish in 2024 and secured African qualification in 2025, the national team returns this year with the ambition of «reaching new heights on the international stage».

Team Morocco's participation in this world final follows their continental triumph at the African Bakery Cup, held during the CREMAI Salon in Casablanca in September 2025, an event championed by the Rahal Group.

Kamal Rahal Essoulami, CEO of the Rahal Group, president of the National Federation of Bakery and Pastry (FNBP), and the Moroccan Federation of Culinary Arts (FMAC), and a key supporter of Team Morocco, expresses his pride in seeing the national team compete on the world stage.

This 13th edition of the competition features ten teams, each comprising three contestants, who will face off in four iconic challenges: baguettes and world breads, sweet pastries, snacking, and an artistic piece.
