Olympique de Marseille has officially announced the signing of Ziyad Baha, a 16-year-old Moroccan forward widely regarded as one of the most promising talents of his generation. The young striker, the son of former Moroccan international Nabil Baha (20 caps), joins the Marseille club after developing in Spain, notably with Málaga CF and Real Betis.

Closely followed in Morocco, Ziyad Baha rose to prominence on the continental stage after winning the U17 Africa Cup of Nations with the Atlas Cubs, a tournament in which he scored four goals. He went on to confirm his potential at the U17 World Cup, once again finding the net four times and playing a key role in Morocco’s impressive campaign.

Explaining his decision to join Marseille despite the option of continuing his development at Betis, the forward wrote on Instagram: «After careful consideration, I chose to take a different path that aligns with my ambitions and my growth as a footballer.» He added that he is approaching this new chapter «with ambition and determination», while referencing the club’s motto: «Straight to the goal.»

In Marseille, Ziyad Baha is expected to reach a new milestone in his young career, with the medium-term objective of progressing toward the professional squad.
