Senegal has once again affirmed its unwavering support for Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire national territory, including the Sahara.
This stance was articulated in a joint communiqué issued on Monday in Rabat, following the conclusion of the Great Morocco-Senegal Cooperation Commission's meetings, co-chaired by Morocco's Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and Senegalese Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko.
On this occasion, Senegal reiterated its full backing for the autonomy plan under Moroccan sovereignty, which Morocco has put forward as the sole credible, serious, and realistic solution to resolving this regional dispute within the exclusive framework of the United Nations.
Senegal also praised the historic adoption by the United Nations Security Council on October 31, 2025, of resolution 2797. This resolution endorses, within the context of Moroccan sovereignty, the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco as the only serious, credible, and lasting basis for achieving a political solution to this issue.
