A 65-year-old man has undergone emergency surgery after a rapid transfer from Ceuta to Cadiz, following a brutal assault in Tetouan that left him with severe brain hemorrhaging.

The man, a Moroccan-born Spanish citizen, is currently in the intensive care unit. His family reports that his condition is critical, particularly in the crucial hours after the surgery.

According to the victim's family residing in the Iberian Peninsula, the assault took place on Sunday afternoon in Tetouan. He was reportedly pushed by a relative, causing him to fall and lose consciousness. The suspect was subsequently detained by police.

The victim was initially admitted to a hospital in Tetouan and placed in intensive care. However, as his condition worsened, an urgent decision was made to transfer him to Ceuta. At the border, he was moved from a Moroccan ambulance to a Spanish one.

After being transported to Loma Colmenar Hospital in Ceuta for further examinations, arrangements were made for his evacuation by medical helicopter to Cadiz, where he underwent immediate surgery.
