Maritime traffic between the Port of Algeciras, Tanger Med Port, and the city of Ceuta resumed on Thursday, following improved weather conditions after Storm Leonardo, according to an announcement published on the port’s social media accounts.

The decision included the reopening of the docks at Tanger Med from 8:00 p.m., a key step in restoring cargo traffic between the two shores. The Algeciras–Tanger Med line became operational in the early evening, with the departure of ferries operated by Balearia and DFDS.

Trucks were once again authorized to enter the Port of Algeciras, despite some remaining restrictions. Five ferries began loading trucks in preparation for the first scheduled crossings later in the afternoon.

However, maritime links between the Port of Tarifa and the city of Tangier remain suspended, as Africa Morocco Link continues to halt operations due to persistent adverse weather conditions. The resumption of services will depend on how weather conditions evolve in the coming hours.
