Fouzi Lekjaa, Morocco's Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget and President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), made a compelling call on Tuesday in Salé for enhanced collaboration among public and private sectors in the nations set to host the 2030 World Cup.
Speaking at the launch of the Morocco–Spain–Portugal Business Forum on the 2030 FIFA World Cup, an event co-hosted by the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), and the Portuguese Business Confederation (CIP), Lekjaa underscored the importance of this global event as a platform for unity and youth empowerment.
He described the 2030 World Cup as a transformative project that aims to strengthen bonds among nations and build a shared future centered on cooperation, innovation, and progress. «This initiative, rooted in the rich civilizational, cultural, and economic ties between the three countries, offers a unique opportunity to harness their collective strengths for a seamless and exemplary organization», he stated.
Lekjaa also pointed out the logistical, security, and organizational hurdles that lie ahead, advocating for enhanced collective intelligence and the alignment of infrastructure, transportation, and management strategies. He emphasized that businesses play a pivotal role in the success of such a monumental event.
Reflecting on Morocco's hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), he lauded the event's execution under «exceptional» conditions, showcasing the organizational prowess, expertise of national leaders, and the capability of Moroccan companies to design, construct, and oversee complex events.
Furthermore, Lekjaa highlighted that Morocco's investments in sports infrastructure are part of a holistic strategy that integrates social, economic, and territorial elements, thereby enhancing the nation's influence and cohesion.
