FC Barcelona is considering the possibility of signing Moroccan international Abdessamad Ezzalzouli to strengthen its attacking line ahead of next season, Spanish sports daily Marca reported on Tuesday.

According to the newspaper, the Catalan club’s priority remains activating the purchase option for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, reportedly valued at around €30 million. However, Barcelona’s sporting management is closely monitoring the situation of the Atlas Lions winger as a strategic alternative.

Marca added that signing Ezzalzouli could also present a financial advantage for Barcelona, which still retains 20 percent of the player’s rights. The winger currently plays for Real Betis, meaning his transfer could prove less costly than a potential deal for Rashford.

Ezzalzouli, who came through Barcelona’s La Masia academy, is enjoying a strong season with the Andalusian side. In 18 appearances, he has scored five goals and provided five assists, while also standing out for his technical ability with 23 successful dribbles.

The newspaper concludes that the Moroccan winger’s versatility and familiarity with Barcelona’s environment make him one of the options being considered by the club’s technical staff ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
