Casablanca police arrest six suspects in sports-related violence case

In the early hours of Wednesday, March 11, police officers in the Moulay Rachid district of Casablanca arrested six individuals suspected of involvement in sports-related violence and causing damage to private property.

According to a security source, Casablanca police were alerted to a group of individuals, believed to be affiliated with local football supporter groups, who were engaging in violent clashes using bladed weapons and flares. The group also damaged cars parked along a public street in the Dyar Salam neighborhood, prompting police patrols to intervene and arrest six suspects shortly after the incident.

The suspects have been placed in police custody pending a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the full circumstances and motives behind the case. Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the remaining individuals believed to be involved.
