Body of two-year-old girl found in Chefchaouen two weeks after disappearance

On Wednesday evening, March 11, the body of a young girl called Soundouss, was found in the city of Chefchaouen, two weeks after intensive search operations involving security services, local authorities, and volunteers from the community.

According to local media sources, several young men discovered the body of the approximately two-year-old girl trapped beneath rocks in a stream near her family’s home, about 600 meters from the house.

After being alerted, local authorities, national security officers, forensic police, auxiliary forces, and civil protection units rushed to the scene. The child’s body was transferred to Mohammed V Regional Hospital in Chefchaouen for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Several of the young men who discovered the body were also taken to the national security headquarters for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
