Moroccan airports registered a commercial traffic volume of 3,133,378 passengers in January 2026, reflecting a 14.7% rise compared to the same month last year, as reported by the National Airports Office (ONDA).
Mohammed V Airport, which handles over 33% of the nation's total traffic, welcomed 1,062,683 passengers, marking a substantial 20.91% increase from January 2025, according to ONDA.
Most other airports also experienced robust double-digit growth, with notable performances from Beni-Mellal (+46.62%), Tangier Ibn Battuta (+19.11%), Rabat Salé (+18.99%), Nador El Aroui (+16.04%), Marrakech-Menara (+13.61%), and Agadir Al Massira (+11.17%). This surge was largely driven by international travel.
In terms of passenger distribution between domestic and international flights for January 2026, Moroccan airports handled 2,801,501 international travelers (+14.89%) and 331,877 domestic passengers (+13.11%).
International traffic growth was observed across all regions. Europe, which constitutes over 80% of the total international traffic, experienced a 13.16% increase. Other regions, such as Africa, the Middle and Far East, North America, the Maghreb, and South America, saw growth rates of 28.92%, 15.87%, 28.71%, 13.65%, and 50.01%, respectively.
Regarding flight operations, ONDA noted that January 2026 recorded 23,348 flights departing and arriving at Moroccan airports, marking a 13.62% increase compared to January 2025.
Additionally, freight traffic also saw an uptick, rising by 7.38% in January 2026, with over 9,327 tonnes handled compared to 8,685 tonnes in January 2025.
