AFCON 2025: Senegalese federation to appeal CAF decision at CAS
DR

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) is reeling after learning on Tuesday that its Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco has been declared a forfeit, with the official score set at 3-0 in favor of the Atlas Lions.

In response, the FSF has denounced the decision as «unjust, unprecedented, and unacceptable», and announced plans to take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne to defend its rights and those of Senegalese football.

This ruling follows an appeal by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), which was accepted by the Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The Committee overturned the Disciplinary Jury's original decision, citing a failure to uphold the right to a fair trial. According to CAF, the actions of the Senegalese team breached articles 82 and 84 of the competition's regulations.
