While many French towns and municipalities have shifted to the right, Paris remains a stronghold for the left, alongside other areas where socialist mayors have been re-elected. Among them is Franco-Moroccan candidate Karim Bouamrane, who secured re-election in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine with 56.44% of the vote. His opponents, LFI's Manon Monmirel and former UDI mayor William Delannoy, received 28.2% and 15.35% respectively.

Le Figaro highlights that Karim Bouamrane was one of the first candidates of Maghrebi origin to lead a city with over 50,000 residents, following his initial victory in 2020.

The mayor gained additional recognition in 2024 when Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine hosted part of the athletes' village during the Olympic Games.
