Chef Nawal Rezagui has recently been honored with a Michelin star, fulfilling a dream she has cherished for years. For the past two years, she has been at the helm of L’Alcôve in Vinay (Marne), following a significant career shift a decade ago when she left Morocco. Upon receiving her first star from this prestigious guide, she spoke with France 3 régions, describing the accolade as a testament to «many things, to hard work, to sacrifice», and a reflection of her entire journey.

Her ambition to earn a Michelin star was ignited during her first internship at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Now, the star celebrates her for «ambitious and precise cuisine that doesn’t lack character». The Franco-Moroccan chef also revealed that she found her true culinary «love at first sight» in Champagne. There, she built an international team, drawing talent from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Portugal, Chile, the Comoros, Ukraine, and the French region that embraced her.

«We are truly in a realm of creativity, open-mindedness», Nawal Rezagui told the media, emphasizing «a cuisine that speaks all languages». While crafting dishes that «reflect [her]», the chef focuses on the delicate interplay of spices to «enhance the star ingredient». Each plate becomes a canvas for stories and shared memories.

Today, this recognition inspires Nawal Rezagui to aim even higher, «without pressure and without stress», but always with passion.
