Casablanca police arrest suspect for inciting violence in videos

Officers from the National Brigade of Judicial Police arrested a suspect in Casablanca’s Hay Mohammadi district, accused of disseminating videos inciting violence against people of different faiths and threatening to commit crimes using knives of various sizes.

The arrest was carried out as part of a judicial investigation launched on Wednesday, April 8, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, to determine the circumstances surrounding the circulation of the videos.

Investigations, conducted based on the footage and in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), led to the identification and apprehension of the suspect.

Preliminary findings indicate that the individual suffers from mental health disorders. The public prosecutor has ordered his transfer to the psychiatric ward of Ibn Rochd University Hospital in Casablanca for further evaluation.
