The government council, which met on Thursday, approved draft decree No. 2.26.311 setting out the conditions and procedures for granting public financial support to candidate lists presented in general elections for the House of Representatives by candidates under the age of 35.
Presented by the Minister of the Interior, the decree aims to define how public funding will be allocated to candidate lists submitted by individuals aged 35 or younger, whether running as independents or under political parties, in local or regional constituencies, government spokesperson Mustapha Baitas said.
Baitas also noted that the council reviewed draft bill No. 08.26 amending and supplementing Law 81.00 on the establishment of the National Office for Social and Cultural University Works, before deciding to postpone its examination to a future meeting.
