The Royal Moroccan Football Federation, under the leadership of Fouzi Lekjaa, has declared its backing for Gianni Infantino's bid for the presidency of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
This endorsement was communicated in a letter to FIFA's General Secretariat, highlighting the federation's enthusiastic support for Infantino's candidacy ahead of the General Assembly set for March 18, 2027, in Rabat.
In a statement, the federation expressed that this letter serves as a recognition of the substantial efforts made by Infantino and his team to enhance the football landscape both in Africa and internationally. It reiterated its commitment to continue collaborating effectively with FIFA under Infantino's stewardship to elevate the sport and ensure it achieves its deserved status.
Notably, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) had unanimously resolved on Wednesday, April 29, to endorse Gianni Infantino for re-election as FIFA President for the 2027-2031 term.
