Marrakech police officer under investigation for alleged bribery case

A police officer working in the M'hamid security district in Marrakech is under investigation after being caught allegedly accepting a bribe in exchange for refraining from carrying out his duties.

According to preliminary findings, the officer was found in possession of a sum of money received outside working hours from an individual involved in a criminal case.

The Regional Judicial Police Brigade in Marrakech opened an investigation on Wednesday evening under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor to determine the full circumstances of the case and identify any possible connections or motives behind the alleged acts.

The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said disciplinary measures will be taken against the officer once the judicial investigation is completed, in line with regulations governing national security personnel.
