The winners of the Marchica E-Foil Cup - World Championship 2026, the first global competition of its kind to take place in Africa, were celebrated on Sunday evening in Nador. The event was held under the theme «Sport, Innovation, and Territorial Influence».
At the award ceremony, which marked the conclusion of two days of intense competition, Spain's Manel Arba Zuriguel emerged victorious in the men's category, outperforming American Justin Chait and Austrian Clemens Kresser. In the women's division, Sweden's Agnes Wicander claimed the top spot, followed by Spain's Julia Castro and the Netherlands' Laura Jil Kurmann.

This prestigious sporting event was organized with the backing of the Agency for the Development of the Marchica Lagoon site, Marchica Med, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), and the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of the Oriental. It attracted an elite group of both Moroccan and international riders.
Featured on the official calendar of the World Tour 2026, the Nador stage is the third in the series, following events in Düsseldorf (Germany) and Leucate (France). According to the organizers, this highlights the evolution of contemporary nautical sports and signals the expansion of the circuit to exciting new geographic locations.
It's important to note that e-foiling, or electric surfing, represents the cutting edge of water sports. Utilizing a board equipped with an electric motor and a streamlined mast (foil), it allows riders to glide effortlessly above the water, offering a unique experience marked by tranquility and liberation from the constraints of wind and waves.
