A light earthquake struck northern Morocco near Fnidek on Sunday evening, according to Spain’s National Geographic Institute (IGN).
The quake, initially measured at magnitude 2.9, occurred at 6:10 p.m. at a shallow depth of 5 kilometers. The epicenter was located near Fnidek in the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, close to the border with Ceuta.
The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) later reported the earthquake at magnitude 2.5, while the citizen-seismograph network RaspberryShake also recorded it at magnitude 2.9.
