Paris Saint-Germain right-back Achraf Hakimi, who picked up a thigh injury during the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, is «continuing his treatment protocol» ahead of the final against Arsenal, the Ligue 1 club announced on Saturday.
According to RMC Sport, citing a club source, PSG’s medical staff is aiming to have the Moroccan international fit for the European final scheduled for May 30. The club also hopes to have the entire squad available for the highly anticipated showdown.
Hakimi suffered the injury late in the first leg, which PSG won 5-4 against Bayern. He will miss Sunday’s home match against Brest at the Parc des Princes in the 33rd round of Ligue 1.
PSG also said several players returned from Munich carrying minor fitness concerns. Warren Zaïre-Emery is dealing with back pain, while Willian Pacho and Nuno Mendes are both undergoing treatment for thigh issues in the coming days.
«There’s nothing serious», coach Luis Enrique said during Saturday’s pre-match press conference ahead of the Brest game.
With a three-point lead over Lens, who beat Nantes 1-0 on Friday, Paris Saint-Germain could move a step closer to securing a 14th French league title with a victory on Sunday.
