Speaking in Nairobi on Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron described the achievements of Morocco’s education system under the leadership of King Mohammed VI as «an extraordinary model» for Africa.
«What Morocco has achieved under the leadership of His Majesty the King is an incredible revolution», Macron said during the closing ceremony of the Africa Forward «Inspire & Connect» business forum, held ahead of the Africa Forward Summit.
The French president praised Morocco’s progress in primary, secondary, and higher education, noting that Moroccan students rank among the top performers at France’s prestigious École Polytechnique. He said the kingdom’s educational trajectory represents «an extraordinary model» for the African continent.
Macron also announced €23 billion in investments for Africa, stating that the projects are expected to create more than 250,000 direct jobs in both France and Africa.
He further stressed that the futures of Europe and Africa are closely intertwined, arguing that Africa needs «investment» rather than public aid.
The «Africa Forward: Inspire & Connect» forum brought together more than 1,500 business leaders, investors, and public officials from Africa, France, and other countries to discuss issues related to growth, investment, and the continent’s economic transformation.
Moroccan Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch attended the forum’s closing ceremony, which featured workshops, B2B meetings, and discussions bringing together executives from major African and French companies, SME representatives, young entrepreneurs, and public sector officials.
