The Central Commission in charge of the military service census held a meeting on Wednesday at the headquarters of Morocco’s Ministry of the Interior to establish the criteria for selecting young men and women called up to perform military service as part of the next intake, the ministry announced.
The move comes in implementation of instructions from King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), regarding «the necessary measures for the integration of the next intake of military conscripts starting September 1, 2026», according to a ministry statement.
The commission met «under the chairmanship of a judge serving as chamber president at the Court of Cassation, in the presence of representatives from the relevant government departments, military and security services, as well as governance institutions and bodies represented within the commission», the statement added.
Based on the adopted criteria, lists containing the names of the selected conscripts will be prepared, taking into account the rankings and assessments provided by the competent military authorities. These lists will then be forwarded to the relevant authorities to begin procedures for notifying the conscripts and integrating them into military service on the scheduled date.
