A heatwave and unusually hot weather are expected from Thursday through Monday across several provinces in Morocco, with temperatures ranging between 34°C and 42°C, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology.
In an orange-level weather alert, the DGM said temperatures between 36°C and 41°C are forecast from Thursday to Saturday in the provinces of Ouezzane, Meknes, Fez, Moulay Yaâcoub, Taounate, Sidi Kacem, Khémisset, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Saleh, Khénifra, Settat, Youssoufia, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Marrakech, Rehamna, Béni Mellal, Chichaoua, Taroudant, Kénitra, Larache, Benslimane, Nouaceur, Berrechid, Guelmim, and Sidi Bennour.
The same weather phenomenon, with temperatures ranging from 39°C to 42°C, is expected from Saturday to Monday in the provinces of Aousserd, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, and Tata.
Meanwhile, temperatures between 37°C and 42°C are forecast on Thursday and Friday in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Essaouira, Safi, Chtouka-Aït Baha, Inzegane-Aït Melloul, and Tiznit.
The bulletin also forecasts temperatures ranging between 34°C and 38°C in the provinces of Casablanca, Médiouna, Mohammedia, Rabat, Salé, Skhirat-Témara, El Jadida, and Sidi Ifni.
