Nayef Aguerd expected to join Morocco squad for 2026 World Cup

Morocco national football team defender Nayef Aguerd is expected to be part of Morocco’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, according to Foot Mercato. Head coach Mohamed Ouahbi is reportedly set to include him in the squad for the tournament.

Aguerd underwent successful surgery last March after suffering for several months from chronic groin pain caused by a sports hernia that first appeared in October.

Earlier this month, Olympique de Marseille announced that it had authorized the Moroccan international to travel to Morocco to continue his rehabilitation program in coordination with the medical staff of the national team.
