A partnership agreement for the accession of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, along with the institutions and bodies under its supervision, to the National Portal for the Right of Access to Information (PNDAI) was signed on Sunday in Rabat on the sidelines of the third edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo.
The signing ceremony was chaired by Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid and Omar Seghrouchni, president of the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP).
Under the agreement, the ministry and its three sectoral departments commit in particular to monitoring and responding to requests and complaints received in accordance with the provisions of Law 31.13 on the right of access to information. The agreement also provides for the sharing of links granting access to information proactively published by the ministry, including open data, as part of the implementation of Article 10 of the law.
It further calls for the transmission to the CNDP of data relating to all establishments and bodies placed under the ministry’s authority or supervision.
For its part, the CNDP will organize training and awareness sessions for the ministry on the right of access to information, while also supporting the department in its effective integration into the PNDAI.
The PNDAI is a digital platform enabling Moroccan citizens, as well as foreign nationals legally residing in Morocco, to submit and track requests for access to information and related complaints, in line with the provisions of Law 31.13.
The platform also provides data and indicators for the institutions and bodies concerned, with the aim of improving service quality and strengthening the effectiveness of the right-of-access-to-information system.
