Morocco U17 finish fourth at AFCON after Egypt defeat

Morocco’s national U17 football team finished fourth in the U17 Africa Cup of Nations (Morocco 2026) after losing 2-0 to Egypt in the third-place playoff, played on Monday evening at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé.

Egypt’s goals were scored by Mohamed El Sayed in the 33rd minute and Ahmed Beshir in stoppage time (90+12). The Atlas Cubs had already secured qualification for the U17 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Qatar in 2026, after reaching the quarter-finals of the continental tournament.

The U17 AFCON final will pit Senegal against Tanzania on Tuesday.
