A magnitude 2.8 earthquake struck near Guercif on Thursday evening, according to seismic monitoring agencies.
The quake occurred at 8:51 p.m. local time, with its epicenter located about 19 kilometers west of Guercif and at a shallow depth of 13.9 kilometers.

The tremor was reportedly felt by some residents near the epicenter, the same source added. A video shared online and captured by a surveillance camera at a café shows customers abruptly leaving their tables as the tremor struck the center of Tadart, in the province of Guercif.
