The Spanish agency «Andalucía Trade» held an economic meeting in Casablanca dedicated to green hydrogen, in partnership with the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the city and the Andalusian Hydrogen Cluster. The initiative seeks to «strengthen economic and institutional ties between Andalusia and Morocco in a field considered strategic for both sides’ energy transition and industrial development».

According to a statement issued by the Government of Andalusia, the mission brought together Andalusian companies active across various segments of the renewable hydrogen value chain: Cubicoff Ingeniería Abierta, Clan Hydrogen and Clan Nitrogen from Seville, Evo Automotive, also based in Seville, Ariema from Huelva, and Caldererías Indálicas from Almería. They took part in an intensive program of bilateral meetings with Moroccan institutions and operators, aimed at «exploring opportunities for cooperation, investment and the development of joint projects». A total of 61 meetings were held.

The initiative is part of Andalucía Trade’s internationalization strategy, which aims to position the region as «a leading industrial and technological hub in the development of renewable hydrogen and clean energy», while also «attracting investment and strengthening cooperation with strategic international partners».

The meetings were attended by representatives of Andalucía Trade, the Andalusian Hydrogen Cluster and the Spanish Chamber in Casablanca. Discussions focused on the current state of Morocco’s green hydrogen market, particularly the national strategic framework, energy infrastructure and the integration of renewable energies.

The Andalusian companies presented their technological expertise and industrial solutions, opening the way for exchanges with Moroccan partners ahead of bilateral B2B meetings between companies and institutions from both countries.

The mission also included a visit to Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Benguerir, one of Africa’s leading research and innovation hubs in green hydrogen and Power-to-X technologies. There, the Andalusian delegation was briefed on ongoing scientific projects and on prospects for academic and technical cooperation.
