Following talks with Brahim Ghali, De Mistura meets Massad Boulos

On Thursday, June 11, in Oslo, on the sidelines of a peace forum, Massad Boulos, special adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump on African and Arab affairs, met with Staffan de Mistura, the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara.

«We discussed strategies to further the implementation of UNSCR 2797, specifically ways to assist the parties in achieving a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable political solution», Boulos wrote on X.

«The Western Sahara dispute has dragged on for more than 50 years, and as UNSCR 2797 underscored, the parties should urgently realize a resolution», he added.

The meeting came shortly after de Mistura's visit to the Tindouf camps on June 7 and 8, where he held talks with Polisario leader Brahim Ghali.
