The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have signed a strategic partnership agreement with Harmattan AI, the French defense technology company announced in a statement.

According to the company, the agreement aims to «establish production capabilities in Morocco for the manufacturing of autonomous defense systems, create an ambitious research and development center dedicated to artificial intelligence for defense applications, and develop partnerships with Moroccan higher education and research institutions».

«This partnership demonstrates our ability to support sovereign nations in developing their national defense industries. Morocco has made a strategic choice in favor of strategic autonomy and technological sovereignty, and we are proud to contribute to that ambition. This collaboration lays the foundation for a long-term partnership with Morocco», said Mouad M'Ghari, CEO and co-founder of Harmattan AI.

Born in Rabat in 2000, M'Ghari is a French-Moroccan entrepreneur who founded Harmattan AI in 2024. The company specializes in autonomous combat systems, military drones and command-and-control software platforms.

Harmattan AI was valued at $1.4 billion following a $200 million fundraising round completed in January 2026.
