Morocco has secured the international allegiance of Feyenoord prospect Nassim El Harmouz, who has chosen to represent the Atlas Lions internationally, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Born in the Netherlands and holding both Dutch and Moroccan nationality, El Harmouz has reportedly completed the procedures required to represent Morocco internationally. FIFA has reportedly updated its official records to reflect the change.
A product of Feyenoord’s youth academy, the 19-year-old midfielder is regarded as one of the club’s most promising young talents and is expected to push for a place in the first team in the coming seasons. He recently extended his contract with Feyenoord until 2028, underscoring the confidence the Rotterdam-based club has in his potential.
His decision is the latest example of Morocco’s successful strategy of attracting dual-nationality talents developed abroad. In recent years, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has persuaded a number of highly rated players to commit to the Atlas Lions, further strengthening the national team's talent pool.
