A chase on the outskirts of Salé unfolded this weekend, leading to the arrest of two suspects in a murder committed in Aïn Atiq, near Rabat. According to the daily Assabah, Salé police and the Royal Gendarmerie were forced to use their service weapons to neutralize the threat posed by the two suspects, who were ultimately apprehended.

According to media sources, the incident occurred after the Royal Gendarmerie in Témara identified the alleged perpetrators of a murder, following the discovery of the body of a 29-year-old worker in an agricultural area near the Aïn Atiq industrial zone. The two suspects were traced to Salé, where police and gendarmes launched an operation to arrest them.

During the operation, the men, armed with bladed weapons, violently attacked officers, injuring one police officer. After warning shots were fired and the two men refused to comply, officers fired to incapacitate them, bringing the chase to an end.

Initial findings from the investigation point to «a relentless attack» on the victim, whose body bore around 20 stab wounds. After their arrest, the injured suspects were taken to Moulay Abdellah provincial hospital in Salé, where they remain under medical supervision pending further investigation.
