BCP, Western Union launch instant money transfers to Moroccan bank accounts

The BCP Group and Western Union have launched a new international money transfer solution that allows funds sent from abroad to be deposited instantly and securely into beneficiaries' bank accounts in Morocco, the two companies announced in a joint press release on Monday.

The service relies on a direct API (Application Programming Interface) integration between Western Union's systems and BCP's banking infrastructure, enabling fully automated transfers without waiting times. According to the partners, the solution is designed to simplify remittances for Moroccans living abroad and their families while ensuring secure transactions.

BCP said the initiative forms part of its Open Banking strategy and paves the way for additional cross-border payment services. Western Union, which operates in more than 200 countries and territories, said the partnership strengthens financial connectivity and expands access to digital financial services for Banque Populaire customers in Morocco.
