A video of Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou (Bono) singing the lyrics of a famous River Plate chant has gone viral in Argentina, surprising fans with what many described as his «Argentine accent» and prompting calls for the Atlas Lions star to join the Buenos Aires club.

In the clip, shared by Argentine journalist Iván Alvarenga, Bono is challenged to name a River Plate song. He responds by reciting the opening lyrics of the club's iconic chant, «Por este amor...», before revealing that he used to sing it with his friends and knows «all of them».

The video sparked a wave of reactions on social media. «Why does he speak like an Argentine?» several users asked, while others urged River Plate to sign the Moroccan international. «I hope he gets his chance at River,» one fan wrote, while another commented: «Are we really going to miss the chance to bring him to River?»

Bono's affection for River Plate is well known. He has repeatedly described the Argentine giants as his favorite club since childhood, named club legend Ariel «Burrito» Ortega as his idol, and admitted that playing for River remains one of his biggest dreams.

In a 2023 interview with TyC Sports, he said he would only join the club if he felt capable of performing at the highest level, adding that he did not want to wear the shirt as a symbolic gesture. His dream even earned the backing of Ortega himself, who said he hoped to one day see the Moroccan goalkeeper at the Monumental Stadium.
