Amiblu Maroc, a manufacturer of glass fiber-reinforced polyester (GRP) piping systems, inaugurated its third production line on Tuesday in Nouaceur. The expansion, backed by an investment of 160 million dirhams, will create more than 300 direct and indirect jobs.

In a statement, the company said the new production line will provide «optimized water transport solutions, designed, manufactured and supported locally in accordance with the highest international standards».

The investment marks a new phase in Amiblu Maroc's industrial development, strengthening its capacity to support drinking water supply, desalination, irrigation and industrial infrastructure projects in Morocco and across Africa.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, Austria's Ambassador Anna Jankovic, AMIBLU Group Vice President Regina Zorn, AMIBLU North Africa CEO Ali Benhayoun, AMIBLU Maroc CEO Omar Benyahia, and local authorities.

Mezzour said the project aligns with Morocco's strategy to develop an industrial ecosystem dedicated to water desalination, describing the sector as «an essential lever for strengthening our industrial sovereignty, increasing local integration and providing a sustainable response to water security challenges».

The company also highlighted its strong local footprint, noting that its operations are staffed entirely by Moroccan teams and that its workforce is expected to reach 700 employees. According to Amiblu, this reflects Morocco's ability to develop high-level industrial and technical expertise while benefiting from technology transfer and the backing of an international group.

Looking ahead, Amiblu Maroc plans to open the GRP Academy in 2027. The training center will offer courses in design, sizing, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance, with the aim of strengthening skills across Morocco's water sector.
