Uber expands to Tangier and Agadir

As it continues to expand its presence in Morocco, Uber has announced the launch of its services in Tangier and Agadir, aiming to support the country's fast-growing tourism sector. The move builds on the platform's existing operations in Casablanca and Rabat, as Morocco strengthens its position as one of the region's leading tourist destinations ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

With tourist arrivals continuing to rise and Morocco targeting 26 million visitors by 2030, Uber says it aims to provide «reliable, safe and convenient mobility» to enhance the visitor experience. In a statement, the company said the service is designed to «make travelers' journeys smoother, from getting to hotels and tourist attractions to exploring cities with ease».

Through its expansion to Agadir and Tangier, Uber said it is responding to growing demand by «offering a reliable mobility solution that makes it easier to travel across the country». In both cities, users will be able to book rides through the Uber app and choose between UberX and UberXL, services already available in Casablanca and Rabat.

Citing official figures, the company noted that Morocco welcomed a record 19.8 million tourists in 2025, a 14% increase compared with the previous year, while tourism revenues reached 124 billion dirhams between January and November. In the first quarter of 2026, the Kingdom received 4.3 million visitors, up more than 7% year-on-year.
