Jordan Football Association president Prince Ali bin Al Hussein announced on Sunday that Moroccan coach Jamal Sellami’s tenure with the national team had come to an end.

«During my meeting today with my dear brother, Captain Jamal Sellami, and as your journey with the Nashama comes to a close, we thank you for your outstanding efforts and dedication, and for your contribution to the historic achievement of our national team qualifying for the World Cup», he he wrote on X.

«Your experience with the Nashama was exceptional, and you will always remain a cherished son of Jordan, in recognition of the dedication, professionalism and leadership spirit you brought», he added.

Sellami had led Jordan to the World Cup finals for the first time in the country’s history, before the team exited the tournament in the first round after losing all three of its matches against Austria, Algeria and Argentina.
