The State Secretariat for Foreign Trade on Monday launched eTrade.ma at the Benguerir campus of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), unveiling a national export-focused e-commerce platform designed to help Moroccan exporters promote their products online and connect more easily with international buyers.
The launch ceremony was attended by Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Omar Hejira, UM6P Director General Abdelhadi Sohib, Moroccan Exporters Association (ASMEX) Director General Mounir Ferram, key stakeholders from the national export ecosystem, and more than 50 executives from Moroccan exporting companies.
Developed in partnership with UM6P, the platform complements the support measures set out in the 2025-2027 foreign trade roadmap, particularly those aimed at accelerating the sector's digital transformation.
eTrade.ma seeks to address some of the main obstacles facing Moroccan micro-enterprises and SMEs in expanding internationally, including limited visibility in foreign markets, restricted access to international buyers, insufficient use of digital marketing tools, and the complexity of export prospecting. The platform is designed to provide businesses with simpler, faster and more effective access to global market opportunities.
The initiative will allow micro-enterprises, SMEs and cooperatives to reach international markets without the need to travel or participate in trade fairs. Through the platform, they will be able to showcase their products to overseas buyers. According to the State Secretariat, the initiative is expected to generate an additional 15 billion dirhams in exports by 2027.
The launch was also marked by the signing of two partnership agreements. The first, between the State Secretariat for Foreign Trade, PortNet S.A., the OCP Foundation and UM6P, aims to strengthen the technical integration of eTrade.ma with the National Single Window for Foreign Trade Procedures.
The second agreement, signed by the State Secretariat for Foreign Trade, Barid Al-Maghrib Group, Chronopost International Maroc, UM6P and the OCP Foundation, focuses on developing innovative logistics services integrated into the platform.
